Fat Loss 4 Idiots - Tips To Make the Diet Work Even Better

I know from experience that the Idiot Proof Diet - Fat Loss 4 Idiots - is a great way to lose weight. But is there a way to make this diet work even better?

In a sense there is, and that is to follow the plan as it's set out and not try to mix in other information you might have on dieting in general or about other diet plans.

Let me explain.

I read a lot of comments and questions about Fat Loss 4 Idiots and I've noticed that many people try to "out think" the diet.

For instance, many people seem to think that if they are losing weight nicely while eating four meals a day as required by the diet, then they will lose weight even faster if they cut back to three meals a day.

Losing Weight with Fat Loss 4 Idiots

For most diets, any that do not use Calorie Shifting as the basis for fast weight loss, that idea might make perfect sense.

But when you're using the Idiot Proof Diet it's a bad idea and doing so will probably slow your weight loss rather than increase it.

So with that said let me give you a few tips for getting the most out of Fat Loss 4 Idiots.

Don't skip meals

For the diet to work best you need to eat those four meals a day. If you find you aren't hungry or you're rushed and don't have much time just eat less at some or all of the meals.

You should never eat until you feel stuffed at any meal but try not to leave the table feeling hungry either, that just promotes snacking which can really slow down weight loss.

Stop dieting on "cheat days"

Because the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet is so easy to use many people "get on a roll" and want to keep dieting after an 11-day cycle and skip the three cheat days between cycles.

Again, that thinking might make sense with other diets but not with Fat Loss 4 idiots.

The idea behind that thinking of course is that more is better. If you've just lost five or six or even nine pounds during an 11-day cycle, why stop? Keep going. Lose more.

But it doesn't work that way. If you don't stop dieting during the "cheat days" you may well stop losing weight altogether. I know, I tried it.

Fat Loss 4 Idiots works by tricking your body into thinking it isn't getting enough food so it starts burning fat to make up the shortfall. It does that with Calorie Shifting. If your body becomes accustomed to the shifts, it's no longer fooled and calorie shifting no longer works. So those days off are important.

What you should do during your "cheat days" is not get carried away. When I first started using Fat Loss 4 Idiots I cheated big on my days off and indulged in my favourite comfort food, McDonald's fries. I didn't sit and eat one medium order of fries, I ate two large orders. And went back the next day and the day after that. Needless to say, the weight I lost during the 11-day cycle started coming back pretty fast.

I'm not saying you shouldn't have a burger or some fries on your "cheat days" but be sensible about it, not like me. The best thing is to just eat normally and eat at home as much as possible.

Do your own cooking during 11-day cycles

Although this is talked about in the Diet Handbook a lot of people still ask me if it's okay to eat restaurant or takeout food during a cycle. The answer is, no, not if you want to lose weight as quickly as possible.

The problem of course is that you really don't know how a restaurant has prepared your food. Even just a salad could loaded with diet breaker add-ons. It really is best to cook your own meals at home and follow the guidelines in the Diet Handbook.

Stay away from the scales

Many people when starting any diet become obsessed with the bathroom scales. They're on them about a billion times a day looking for the slightest weight loss.

For people like us who know what it's like to be heavy this is completely normal. You become so anxious to lose weight even a tiny loss can be as exciting as a holiday present. But there's a downside to scales obsession.

Your weight will fluctuate during your cycles. You may have a day with an astounding loss, and then find that you've regained some weight the next day. This can be very discouraging and I've know people who have quit the diet part way through a cycle because they thought it wasn't working.

What counts is your weight after the 11-day cycle is complete.

So do yourself a favour and weigh in the day before you start a cycle and not again until the day after a cycle ends. I know this can be hard to do but just think about the nice surprise you're going to get.

Try to get a little exercise

Fat Loss 4 Idiots does not have an exercise component and you don't need to exercise to lose weight with this diet. But, a little exercise will help.

I'm not talking about diving into heavy cardio (whatever that is?) or doing a hundred laps at the pool. I mean going for walks with the dog. Walking to the store instead of driving. Just any sort of light exercise. Of course if you're into exercise, go for it! It won't hurt the diet.

So there you have it. A few common sense tips to help you make Fat Loss 4 Idiots work even better for you.
